The Art of Fielding by Cahd Harbach was picked as one of the ten best books of the year by The New York Times.  And there is no doubt that this book deserves that distinction.  It's about baseball and college life but, oh so much more than that.  It's fun, intelligent, and wise.  And I don't even like baseball.

Oh, thank you, Diane Keaton, for writing this witty, well-written, warm ( is that enough w's?) memoir about you and your mother, Dorothy Hall.  Keaton realized she could not write her story without telling about her intelligent, complicated mother.  Such a good read.
